                                                   ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT


Purpose of the Job 

  • To provide support to the Finance Manager and assist in the processing of month-end accounting tasks
  • To ensure the integrity of financial information and compliance with relevant internal and external reporting requirements
  • To assist with the co-ordination of the outsourced centre


General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal departments, customers and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy of monthly results and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare monthly suite of financial statements and management reports
  • Assist customer service with Accounts Receivable queries
  • Perform the Australian and New Zealand GST calculations monthly and FBT Calculations yearly
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial information in the ERP system
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Completion of monthly account reconciliations
  • Complete month end processes accurately and review with the Finance Manager in a timely manner
  • Oversee the completion of tasks by the Accenture towers (PTP, CTC, RTR, FP&A)


Professional Experience 

  • Previous experience in an accounts role is necessary


Education Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Finance, Commerce or Business and are qualified or working toward qualifications as a CA/CPA


Other Requirements

IT proficiency:

  • SAP and BW experience (ideal but not essential, training will be provided)
  • Good working knowledge of Excel.
  • Microsoft suite of software experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)

Other skills:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to interact with staff and customers from all levels within the organisation
  • Superb organisational and time management skills as well as ability to utilise initiative, be reliable and flexible.
  • A high attention to detail
  • Logical and analytical thought processes
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to handle pressure

The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead by example, attending to detail and working in a fast-paced environment with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The Assistant Accountant possesses a high standard of technical skills and is results driven. The Assistant Accountant “walks the talk” and challenges and improves processes and paradigms whilst leading by example.

They will possess a 'can do' attitude, have the ability to work as part of a team, and be prepared to assist the team with whatever support is required in a positive and timely manner.

About Us

The role is based in our Brisbane office in the Bayside Suburb of Wynnum.  Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will also have exposure to working with the wider Triumph business including the global and regional offices, the local sales team, distribution centre and business support functions.

The role is ideally full time, however part-time with a minimum of 30.4 hour per week would be considered.  We encourage a work life balance whilst ensuring the outcome towards our objective of being a Global Service leader
