                                                                                      Head of IT Japan

 

Purpose of the Job:

The Head of IT Japan is part of the global IT organization and supports the establishment and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy and ensures its alignment with the enterprise's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.

He/she leads and manages the Japanese IT function and holds the ownership of all local IT services and maintenance of existing IT systems.

He/she works closely together with the global IT team located in Europe, the Japanese Business Units including Supply Chain to develop a clear understanding of business needs and ensures cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those in accordance and alignment with global guidelines.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Translate business needs into IT services together with the Business Relationship Management team
  • Supporting the development & implementation of technology initiatives
  • Lead and manage the local IT functions; ownership of all IT services and maintenance of existing IT systems
  • Manage IT-business relationship; represent IT in business discussions and ensure necessary technology capabilities needed by business are developed
  • Oversight of day-to-day operations/escalation management
  • Interface for Solution Design & Build and Business Relationship Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external service providers and contract related matters
  • Work with business users to define service level agreements (SLAs) in contracts
  • Manage ITIL based service processes and monitor service level agreements (SLA) as well as escalate issues and concerns in case of SLA violations
  • Ensure services and invoices are consistent with the terms of the contract
  • Manage relationship with existing external service providers on a day to day basis including contract changes, issue and/or dispute resolution and contract termination

           

Your ideal profile:

  • Ability to translate business vision into IT vision
  • Strong knowledge of core IT (infrastructure, applications), business processes and technology supplier community
  • Maintains current knowledge in use and trends of technology in (textile) manufacturing/retail/wholesale
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • People management skills (review/appraise/develop/coach people)
  • Excellent co-ordination and analytical skills
  • Proven (international) IT service management skills (e.g. ITIL)
  • Experience in partner/vendor management

 

Education and Trainings:

  • University/ Master degree in engineering, business, finance, economics, IT or equivalent
  • Exposure to the (textile) manufacturing/retail/wholesale industry would be beneficial
  • International exposure gained through education or work in a foreign country
  • Extensive restructuring, transformation and change management knowledge
