                                                                                    Industrial Engineering Executive

 

Purpose of the Job:

Improve efficiency and skill set of Commercial and OJT operators, Ensure work study technique mentioned in AD is being followed, Reduce downtime in lines.  Inculcate contents of Production Operating System (POS) to supervisors and operators through proper training and development. Produce finished garments to Triumph’s Global Quality Standards in SQDCEP cadence. (“Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Effectiveness and People”).  

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

Safety                                                                                                                       

  • Ensure compliance to Triumph’s Global Safety & Product Safety policies including metal free, contamination and needle control.                                                                                               
  • Implement and maintain 6S principles through floor walk                    

Quality

  • Ensure Article Description (AD) and Machine Attachments are followed as documented for each style                  
  • Ensure action plan is derived and followed for bottom 3 high quality rejection percentage operators  in terms of handling in coordination with Sewing Executive                                                             

Delivery

  • Meet the target Input efficiency and OEE                                                                          
  • Engage the entire team and support departments in eliminating losses and improving efficiency. Maintain TPP of downtime for each line and drive to eliminate                                                        
  • Derive Action plan and Follow up on Operators whose minutes are < 300                          
  • Ensure OJT operators are trained properly with quality                                                              
  • Capacity study and time study of line to be taken                                 
  • Project minutes and OEE for two weeks based on the loading plan                                    

Cost

  • Ensure disciplined work environment for all. Develop an environment of Teamwork and focuc on waste elimination
  • Review Over Time for the zone

Effectiveness

  • Monitor hourly count and bottlenecks. Take appropriate action/s to eliminate the bottlenecks, Balance the lines and within the zone by conducting Daily Floor Walks and collect data on  absenteeism and capacity 
  • Hand over Work Distribution Plan (WDP) with sub Assembly Process (to be loaded styles) to Head supervisors according to loading plan for W+2. Get authorized copy from HS and handover duplicate copy to  mechanics    
  • Prepare WDP, Process Flow chart for new styles to the factory 
  • Prepare IOC weekly Plan, M/p Plan, Machinery Plan, WDP as per loading plan     
  • Ensure style change over parameters are fulfilled as mentioned in check list                  
  • Ensure layout of line is changed as per the style change over plan 
  • Take up additional projects to improve operational processes when required by the Organization (combining of FOCs- Final Operations Cell, Modular Cell layout for factory, Back part in IOC, Transfer of Pre Prod to FGWH, Support all projects related to 5 year expansion plans)        
  • Prepare presentations and factory tours for visitors                                       
  • Escalate issues to superiors at timely intervals
  • Ensure updating of skill matrix every week                                                                               
  • Ensure updating of Downtime in PC Downtime Sheet. Daily
  • Collect data, analyze, and ensure corrective actions are in place for continuous improvement of all KPI’s.
  • Evaluate experience operator’s skill during recruitment                                                               
  • Database of WDP, hourly report format, skill matrix to be maintained                        
  • Ensure training done on POS, SOP, technical skills and leadership skills through FLC to line, training and head supervisors are refreshed always (example: OEE, Efficiency calculations)                          
  • Interface with Launch, GPME, TPDM to resolve technical issues and to work on special projects    
  • Develop plan and Implement 6s Lean projects identified by Operations
  • Stitching to learn through FLC         
  • Algorithms / Excel calculations / Formulas / Simulation to be made ready / usable for daily business requirements               
  • Getting familiar with SAP                                                                                                                                                             

People

  • Ensure core competencies based on skills matrix for Operators                                                  
  • Interface with other supporting departments including Mechanics, Pre-production, RMWH, Launch, QA, Maintenance and HR.                                                                                          
  • Convert training operators to line and OJT to commercial as soon as they reach 200 minutes  (As required)
  • Coupon Clustering to be done for new styles                                                                   
  • WDP right first time to be captured once the style setting is completed 
  • Pilot run follow up of new and old styles to be done as per loading plan     
  • Initial screening of Line, Training and Head supervisors to be done.

 

Your ideal profile:

Professional Experience

  • Technical sewing knowledge (optional)
  • Ability to increase production through work study / industrial engineering techniques
  • Good Understanding of Quality Control
  • Ability to detect faults quickly and efficiently
  • Knowledge of Lean tools (optional)

Education

  • B. Tech or B.E minimum Qualification

Other Requirements

Technical skills

  • Good Work handling techniques
  • Need to innovate new concepts

Language Skills

  • Language: Tamil, English (Speak, Read, Write)

IT proficiency

  • MS office (Word, PP, Excel)

Other skills

  • Good Analytical skills
  • Able to communicate clearly
  • Good eyesight and not color blind, physical health
  • Be detail oriented with  special attention to time and data management

Mobility

  • Able to move to other lines / department / branch as and when required
